Everton are increasingly confident of completing a deal to sign Villarreal’s rising star Thierno Barry as David Moyes looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, the Toffees are optimistic about their chances of landing the highly-rated French youth international, who has emerged as a sought-after talent following a standout debut season in La Liga.
Barry, 22, joined Villarreal just last summer from Swiss outfit FC Basel in a €14 million deal, but his value has since soared following a string of impressive performances for the Yellow Submarine. The forward’s combination of physical presence, pace, and technical quality has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe, but Everton appear to be at the front of the queue.
The Merseyside club are understood to have already made an approach, although Villarreal have so far stood firm, rejecting an initial offer.
