With £100 million reportedly available for transfers, Everton’s recruitment team have identified several targets, but securing a winger remains high on Moyes’ priority list. Omari Hutchinson has emerged as a leading candidate, but developments elsewhere threaten to derail the Toffees’ pursuit.
According to the Daily Mail, Brentford have lodged a £35 million bid for the Ipswich Town winger, a figure that would reportedly trigger a release clause in Hutchinson’s contract. Romano’s clarification suggests that while Brentford are circling, they have not yet formalised negotiations with Ipswich, leaving a narrow window of opportunity for Everton to act swiftly.
This development could be pivotal for the Merseyside club. Hutchinson is understood to have a relegation clause in his contract with Ipswich, which expires imminently. Brentford’s delay in initiating formal talks could allow Everton to steal a march and potentially hijack the deal.
