“Yes, I think both could fit the bill in terms of stature and what they’d bring to the club and Scottish football in general,” McCoist told talkSPORT BET. “But they’d both need proper financial backing. The current squad just isn’t strong enough.”
McCoist’s comments come as Rangers prepare for a new era under the ownership of 49ers Enterprises, who are expected to take over the club in May. The current interim manager, Barry Ferguson, will remain in charge until the end of the season, but the club is expected to appoint a new permanent manager once the takeover is complete.
