Leeds United have begun their pre-season tour in Germany, but the squad continues to evolve amid ongoing transfer activity. One of the most notable recent developments is the confirmed departure of promising academy star Oliver Boast, who is heading to Tottenham Hotspur in a surprise move.
Boast, just 16 years old, has officially announced his exit from Elland Road after spending eight formative years with the club. The forward impressed last season in the U18 Premier League, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances, and has now sealed a transfer to North London, with reports suggesting the deal involves a seven-figure fee.
Taking to Instagram to share an emotional farewell, Boast wrote:
“After 8 years at Leeds United, it’s now time for me to move on and start a new chapter. I’ve been lucky enough to share some amazing moments with great teammates.
“The memories we shared will stay with me forever. A big thank you to everyone at Leeds who has helped me over the years – I wish the club all the best for the future!”
His departure represents another step in Leeds’ broader reshaping ahead of their Premier League return. While Boast heads to Spurs, several senior players are still joining up with the squad following international duty. Wilfried Gnonto, Brenden Aaronson, and Mateo Joseph are expected to report to training this week.
However, speculation continues to swirl around the future of Mateo Joseph, who remains a potential target for clubs in England and abroad. Speaking over the weekend, Leeds boss Daniel Farke admitted that nothing is guaranteed in the current market.
“Overall I think it’s normal there is speculation at this pre-season. Let’s see what the outcome is,” Farke said.
“We want to keep our best players. At this level I’ve also learned to never say never. Sometimes there are crazy offers and we have to accept the reality – like last season when we sold some of our most important players.
“There is no doubt Mateo is a player I really rate. Everyone in the club does. We will see how the next weeks develop. Time will tell.”
Elsewhere in the transfer market, Leeds are pressing forward with efforts to strengthen their midfield. A deal for Hoffenheim’s Anton Stach is close to completion, with the German international expected to arrive in the coming days for a medical. The club hopes to announce the signing imminently.
Meanwhile, the pursuit of Brazilian winger Igor Paixão appears to have been revived, with reports suggesting talks between Marseille and Feyenoord have stalled. Leeds could now have a clear path to reignite negotiations and bring the 26-year-old to West Yorkshire. Paixão registered an impressive 16 goals and 10 assists last season — numbers that could offer Daniel Farke a major boost on the wing.
