Everton have reportedly made their interest known in West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek, with a formal offer of around £12 million expected in the coming days as the Toffees look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Merseyside club have already lodged an initial enquiry regarding Soucek’s availability. The 30-year-old Czech international has emerged as a prime target for Everton manager David Moyes, who is said to be keen on reuniting with his former player.
Soucek has been a key figure at West Ham since joining from Slavia Prague, initially on loan in January 2020 before sealing a permanent switch that summer. Known for his aerial dominance, tireless work rate, and knack for late runs into the box, Soucek has scored 41 goals and provided 13 assists in nearly 250 appearances for the Hammers — an impressive tally for a defensive-minded midfielder.
However, despite his consistency, the East London club are now reportedly open to listening to offers for the long-serving midfielder. While West Ham are not actively pushing Soucek towards the exit, sources suggest they are prepared to entertain bids in the region of £12 million.
With Abdoulaye Doucoure departing Everton on a free transfer this summer and Idrissa Gana Gueye approaching the twilight of his career, Sean Dyche’s side are prioritising midfield reinforcements. Several options, including Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, have been linked — but Soucek now appears to be firmly in their sights.
Soucek’s robust style and Premier League experience would make him a natural fit for Dyche’s system, and the opportunity to work under David Moyes again may prove persuasive. Moyes, who is now part of the backroom setup at Goodison Park, was instrumental in bringing Soucek to West Ham during his second spell in charge at the London Stadium.
Everton are expected to table their opening bid shortly, with the club reportedly preparing a £12 million offer. It remains to be seen whether that will be enough to tempt West Ham into a deal, particularly given the Czech’s consistent performances and leadership qualities in recent seasons.
