Chris Sutton Slams Iliman Ndiaye’s ‘Careless’ Moment in Everton vs Manchester City

Chris Sutton has criticized Iliman Ndiaye’s careless play in Everton’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City. The Senegal international was guilty of cheaply conceding possession, prompting a City counter-attack. Sutton described Ndiaye’s actions as “careless” while reacting to the incident live on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It’s a brilliant recovery from Garner, careless from Ndiaye once again, from Everton’s point of view,” Sutton said. “Manchester City had a counter-attack chance, but Garner snuffed it out.” Ndiaye has been one of Everton’s best players this season, but was relatively insignificant against Manchester City.

The Toffees were undone by late goals from Nico O’Reilly and Mateo Kovacic, despite putting up a good fight. Everton remain 13th in the Premier League with five games left to play, and will look to return to winning ways when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Saturday.

Everton manager David Moyes won’t be too bothered about the defeat, but would have liked to give the fans something to be happy about. The Merseyside-based club will aim to bounce back from the loss and secure positive results in the remaining games of the season.
