Tottenham Considering £15m Offer from LAFC for Son Heung-min – Report
Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a £15 million bid from MLS side LAFC for forward Son Heung-min, according to The Sun.
The club is reportedly open to letting their captain leave if he expresses a desire to move on, though any potential sale will not take place until after their pre-season tour concludes.
Spurs are set to face Arsenal and Newcastle United as part of their tour of Asia, and Son’s inclusion is a contractual necessity due to his massive popularity in the region.
Selling him before the Newcastle fixture could cost the club up to 75% of their tour earnings, while even bringing him on the trip without playing would result in a 50% loss of that revenue.
The 33-year-old remains a central figure in the squad, having made 46 appearances last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists, helping Tottenham win the Europa League.
Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has become one of the club’s greatest players, registering 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances.
However, his role could diminish next season. With new manager Thomas Frank at the helm, Spurs are planning a tactical overhaul, with Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly among their attacking targets. These changes may see Son face reduced playing time in what could be his final year at the club.
Son is entering the final 12 months of his contract, and while Tottenham are not actively pushing him out, they are preparing for his potential departure.
Sources suggest the club is unlikely to offer a new deal, meaning they may opt to cash in now rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
