Robert Plant, the legendary frontman of Led Zeppelin, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his immense contribution to rock music over more than five decades.
The award was presented at a star-studded gala in London, with tributes pouring in from across the music industry to celebrate Plant’s enduring impact on the genre. His career, which began in the late 1960s and continues to evolve today, has been marked by innovation, reinvention, and a relentless pursuit of artistic authenticity.
Plant first rose to fame as the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, the groundbreaking band he co-founded with guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham in 1968. The band redefined rock music by fusing blues, folk, and hard rock with elements of mythology and mysticism, creating an unmistakable sound that became a blueprint for generations to come.
Tracks like Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love are now etched into the DNA of rock, with Plant’s soaring vocals and enigmatic presence forming a central part of the band’s global appeal. Accepting the award, Plant struck a typically humble and reflective tone:
