Celtic predicted XI vs St Johnstone as Brendan Rodgers decides between Kuhn and Forrest

Celtic Predicted XI vs St Johnstone: Rodgers Weighs Options

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is set to make some key decisions ahead of the team’s Scottish Cup semi-final clash against St Johnstone. With the Premier Sports Cup already in the bag and the Premiership title within touching distance, Celtic’s focus is firmly on securing a domestic Treble.

The Hoops will be looking to overcome Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final, who booked their place with an extra-time victory over Hearts. However, Celtic’s immediate priority is St Johnstone, a team they lost to just two weeks ago.

Rodgers will be without Kasper Schmeichel, Dane Murray, and Yang due to injuries, which means two changes are expected in the team lineup. Nicolas Kuhn and Jota were dropped for the Kilmarnock match last weekend, with James Forrest and Adam Idah starting in attack. Forrest impressed, but Kuhn is expected to return to the right wing, with Jota starting on the left.

This move would allow Daizen Maeda to move back inside and be deployed as a central striker, which appears to be his best position. Viljami Sinisalo will continue in goal, while the back four remains unchanged from the Kilmarnock triumph.

The predicted lineup for Celtic vs St Johnstone includes:

  • Viljami Sinisalo in goal
  • An unchanged back four
  • Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, and Arne Engels in midfield
  • Jota on the left wing and Nicolas Kuhn on the right wing
  • Daizen Maeda up front

With this lineup, Celtic will be looking to overcome St Johnstone and book their place in the Scottish Cup final.
