According to beat reporter Gerry Dulac, the Steelers’ brass likes Dart’s chances, despite him not receiving the same level of attention as top quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.

“They have a first-round grade on Jaxson Dart,” Dulac said on The Rich Eisen Show. “And they really like Shedeur Sanders.” This comes as a surprise, given Sanders’ initial prospects of being a top-five selection. However, Dart’s stock has been rising, with top draft analyst Todd McShay recently predicting that Dart would be drafted ahead of Sanders.

The Steelers’ interest in Dart is significant, given their current quarterback situation. With Russell Wilson and Justin Fields no longer on the team, the Steelers are left with Skylar Thompson and Mason Rudolph. The team is likely waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make up his mind in free agency, but a 41-year-old Rodgers and a journeyman backup in Rudolph may not be the ideal solution.
