Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford has issued an optimistic rallying cry ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League, offering a bold prediction and sharing his hopes of inspiring his teammates with experience and leadership.

“Hopefully,” he replied. “We know and we have seen over the last few years that when you are a team that has just come up, it is tough. But we have also shown before that we have come up and absolutely flown into the Premier League so there’s no reason why we can’t do it.”
Bamford was referring to Leeds United’s impressive 2020–21 campaign under Marcelo Bielsa, when the team secured a ninth-place finish upon their return to the top flight. The striker played a pivotal role that season, scoring 17 goals and becoming a focal point of the team’s attacking play. While five years have passed since that standout year, the forward is eager to help Leeds defy the odds once again.
“Hopefully I can give a little bit of experience and advice to the players who haven’t been there,” Bamford said. “But I think we will be fine, we have got a good group and we have got a great spirit amongst us.”
There is no doubt that the club faces a tougher Premier League landscape this time around. With clubs like Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Sheffield United all struggling to establish themselves after promotion in recent seasons, survival is no longer guaranteed for Championship standouts.
