Leeds United Women have completed their first signing of the summer with the arrival of experienced and versatile defender Chloe Dixon. The former Nottingham Forest full-back joins Simon Wood’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, bringing both Championship-level pedigree and a deep personal connection to the club.
Capable of operating at full-back or further up the wing, Dixon is expected to play a key role in strengthening the Whites’ defensive structure while also contributing to their attacking transitions. Her versatility, experience, and connection to the region make her a standout addition to the squad.
Dixon, who hails from the Leeds area, couldn’t hide her excitement about the move, describing the transfer as a dream come true both professionally and personally.
“It feels very good to be a Leeds player, being a Leeds fan myself,” Dixon said. “All my family are Leeds fans so if they wanted me to play somewhere, they would all probably pick here!”
The 28-year-old, who has previously enjoyed spells at clubs including Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest, brings a wealth of experience to a young and developing Leeds United Women’s squad. Her familiarity with the region and its football culture is something she believes will enhance her impact both on and off the pitch.
“I am from the Leeds area so it will be nice for my family for them to come and watch me and the team,” she said. “It means a lot to be able to represent a club that’s close to my heart.”
Now well into the pre-season schedule, Dixon has quickly settled into her new surroundings, crediting her new teammates for a warm welcome and a smooth transition.
“Pre-season has been good so far. The girls have all been inviting,” she said. “It helps that I already knew a few of them, so when I bumped into them it felt like I hadn’t been away really.”
The defender is eager to get started competitively, especially now that she’s set to pull on the famous white shirt not just as a fan, but as a player.
“I am excited to put the shirt on not just as a fan and actually get out there and play for Leeds myself, so I am looking forward to it,” she added. “I can’t wait to be able to play with a free rein and I am looking forward to being involved in the attacks.”
Head coach Simon Wood will be hoping Dixon’s blend of experience, local pride, and attacking drive will boost the team as they aim for a strong campaign. With her arrival, Leeds United Women have laid down an early marker of their ambition — combining quality signings with genuine passion for the badge.
