Leeds United are close to sealing the permanent signing of LOSC Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, as the club looks to strengthen its defensive ranks following Junior Firpo’s departure.

With Firpo exiting Elland Road, the Whites have moved swiftly to find a suitable replacement and have now locked in on Gudmundsson as their top target.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna (7 July), Leeds have reached a full agreement with Lille, with the transfer fee set at £10.3 million (€12 million) for the 26-year-old Swedish international.
