Hamza Igamane Nearing Rangers Exit as Lille Push for Deal Amid Transfer Talks

Rangers may be facing a significant attacking blow this summer, with talks reportedly advancing over the potential departure of Morocco international Hamza Igamane to Ligue 1 side Lille.

The 22-year-old forward is the subject of firm interest from the French club, and discussions are ongoing between the two sides to finalise a fee, according to reports from the continent. Igamane, who enjoyed a strong campaign under former boss Philippe Clement and then Russell Martin, is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims that a verbal agreement between Igamane and Lille is already in place, with just the transfer fee left to be settled. Rangers are believed to value the versatile attacker at around £15 million, and the coming days could prove decisive as Lille weigh up whether to meet that valuation.

The Gers’ pre-season preparations are already underway, with Russell Martin working to shape his squad ahead of their crucial Champions League qualifying campaign next month. While much of the early focus has been on embedding tactical identity and structure on the training pitch, the Ibrox boss is also having to contend with growing uncertainty around key squad members.

Cyriel Dessers has been linked with a move away from Ibrox, with Greek giants AEK Athens and Eredivisie side Feyenoord both monitoring his situation. Rangers have placed a £25 million valuation on the Belgian, who registered 10 assists, four goals, and an 87% pass accuracy in 33 league appearances last season.

While Raskin’s departure would undoubtedly strip quality from the midfield, insiders believe that Igamane’s exit may be an even greater blow due to his attacking contributions and growing influence on the pitch. Martin had earmarked the Moroccan forward as a key figure in Rangers’ plans for the season ahead, particularly with Champions League qualification at stake.

As it stands, Lille appear to be in pole position to seal a deal, with the player keen on making the move to France. Should a transfer be finalised, Rangers will be expected to act swiftly in the market to replace a forward whose potential was only just beginning to be realised at Ibrox.
