Leeds United are reportedly scouting Sporting CP midfielder Hidemasa Morita as they prepare for a potential Premier League return. According to reports, Morita is “high on the list” for the Whites, who are expected to make an offer for the Japanese international as soon as they secure promotion.

Morita, 29, is known for his technical ability and attacking instinct, often playing in the pivot while being given freedom to move forward and join attacks. He ranks highly in touches in the opposition box, occupying advanced areas and creating chances for his teammates.

Leeds United’s interest in Morita comes as they look to bolster their midfield options ahead of a potential Premier League return. The club’s current midfield was depleted earlier in the season due to injuries to Illia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu.

While West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has been linked with a move to Elland Road, Everton are expected to show interest in the player when the summer window opens. Morita’s potential arrival would add quality to Leeds United’s midfield, which will be crucial if they are to stand a chance of survival in the Premier League.

Leeds United currently sit top of the Championship, with a 98% chance of automatic promotion. They take on Oxford United on Friday, with a win potentially sealing their promotion if Sheffield United slip up.
