Everton’s summer recruitment drive appeared to take a significant step forward this weekend, with reports emerging that the club had reached a verbal agreement to sign Dutch full-back Kenny Tete. However, the situation may yet take a twist, with growing speculation that incoming manager David Moyes could reassess the move.

The 28-year-old defender, who will become a free agent at the end of this month following the expiry of his contract at Fulham, had been widely expected to make Goodison Park his next destination.
