Pittsburgh Steelers Predicted to Land New Quarterback in 2025 NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing uncertainty at quarterback, with Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team still unclear. Amidst the speculation, a new prediction has emerged that the Steelers could land a young quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft.

Bill Bender of The Sporting News has predicted that the Steelers will select Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers with the No. 83 overall pick in the draft. “Ewers is the value pick for the Steelers if the other options don’t pan out,” Bender said. “He passed for 68 TDs and 24 interceptions as a three-year starter, and he led the Longhorns to a CFP semifinal run.”

Ewers’ stats from the 2024 season are impressive, with 65.8% of his passes completed for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. However, he has struggled with injuries and needs to improve his down-field passing.

The Steelers may consider Ewers as a long-term option, and his selection would fit with the team’s pedigree. The team’s interest in Ewers is a sign that they are exploring all options to strengthen their quarterback position.

With the draft approaching, the Steelers will need to make a strategic decision about their quarterback future. Whether they choose Ewers or another prospect, the goal will be to find a talented player who can lead the team to success.
