Godwin ObajeFormer Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Jacob Copeland has signed a deal with the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Copeland was cut by the Steelers last summer after receiving limited playing time and opportunities.
Upon his release, Copeland expressed frustration about the lack of chances he had to showcase his skills. “Didn’t get a chance to showcase (in the) preseason. No opportunity,” he said.
The undrafted free agent has had a journeyman career in the NFL, playing for the Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, and Steelers. After failing to secure a spot in the NFL for the 2024 season, the CFL provides Copeland with a new opportunity to prove himself.
